Everybody look around! The Tony Award®-winning Best Musical that took the world by storm is back.
THE WIZ returns “home” to stages across America in an all-new Broadway-bound tour, the first one in 40 years. The tour begins in THE WIZ’s original home city of Baltimore, where the show made its world premiere 50 years ago.
This groundbreaking twist on The Wizard of Oz changed the face of Broadway—from its iconic score packed with soul, gospel, rock, and finger-snapping 70s funk to its stirring tale of Dorothy’s journey to find her place in a contemporary world.
Conjuring up an Oz unlike anything ever seen before, the creative team is helmed by director Schele Williams (The Notebook, revival of Disney’s Aida) and includes choreographer JaQuel Knight (Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”), William F. Brown (book), Charlie Smalls (music & lyrics), Amber Ruffin (additional material), and Joseph Joubert (music supervision, orchestrations, & music arrangements). They are joined by scenic designer and Academy Award winner Hannah Beachler (Black Panther, Beyonce’s Black is King and Lemonade), costume designer and Emmy and two-time Academy Award nominee Sharen Davis (Ray, Dreamgirls), lighting designer and Barrymore Award winner Ryan J. O’Gara (Thoughts of a Colored Man) and wig designer and Academy Award winner Charles LaPointe (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom).
A dynamite infusion of ballet, jazz, and modern pop brings a whole new groove to easing on down the road. So everybody rejoice! An all-new 21st-Century WIZ is sliding into an Emerald City near you.

ANYONE CAN SELL THE AMERICAN DREAM. BUT CAN EVERYONE OWN IT?
Following a critically acclaimed run in London, "a volcanic new Death of a Salesman has erupted on Broadway” raves The Washington Post. Olivier Award nominee Wendell Pierce ("The Wire," "Jack Ryan") and Olivier Award winner Sharon D Clarke (Caroline, or Change; "Doctor Who") reprise their roles as Willy and Linda Loman in a story told – for the first time on Broadway – from the perspective of an African American family. A New York Times Critic's Pick, the production in New York features a new cast of supporting actors, including Khris Davis ("Atlanta"), McKinley Belcher III (A Soldier's Play), and Tony Award® winner André De Shields (Hadestown).
Directed by Miranda Cromwell – who won an Olivier Award alongside co-director Marianne Elliott for the West End and Young Vic productions – this "unmissable" (Los Angeles Times) interpretation of Miller's classic drama illuminates the dark underbelly of the American Dream and its elusive promise of equality and opportunity for all.
